[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

For a while I was one of few people in my friend circle with a car, so I spent a lot of time in it, shuttling people around and going on adventures. I usually hooked my iPod into the cassette deck and played some stuff I was into lately from the radio station – lots of weird electronic stuff, the usual indie-rock suspects, etc. For a whole summer, though, my iPod was broken, leaving me with the only cassettes I had in my car – a jazz mixtape sold off at a garage sale, and London Calling by The Clash.

So, Diplo and Santogold’s collaboration is fun for a lot of reasons. It’s obvious that I should like “Guns of Brooklyn,” and I do, but almost at the end of the album we get to hear this lovely little jewel of a song. It reminds me of driving from the radio station at some ungodly hour and seeing Santa Cruz from the top of a mountain.

Awesome.
