David Foster Wallace interviewed by Charlie Rose, 1996

perpetua:

This is a very heartbreaking interview in retrospect. I have some friends who are very troubled by DFW’s suicide, mostly because they admire and relate to him, and they now have concern about their careers, and their happiness and mental health. This interview hammers a lot of that home, especially when he speaks about feeling as though his work is misunderstood, even by those who enjoy it.
